FIPS 140-2 & Common Criteria Security Certifications

The numbers are in and with our partners help; Corsec has had one of its most successful quarters in company history! And the future looks even more promising.

With the rising threat of security breaches in today’s technology landscape, the need for products that can deliver a high degree of trusted protection has been amplified. Our partners have been working to meet the threats of today and tomorrow through security certifications. Below are those that have completed the process for FIPS 140-2 and Common Criteria.

FIPS 140-2

The United States’ National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Canada’s Communications Security Establishment (CSE) created the Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 (FIPS 140-2) for systems that process sensitive, but unclassified (SBU) information. FIPS 140-2 defines the security requirements for hardware, software, or firmware that use cryptography. To learn more about FIPS 140-2 download our datasheet.

Common Criteria

Common Criteria is an internationally recognized set of guidelines (ISO 15408), which define a common framework for evaluating security features and capabilities of Information Technology security products. The standard consists of several predetermined evaluation assurance levels, each one more stringent than the last. Common Criteria allows vendors to have their products tested against a chosen level by an independent third-party testing laboratory. Once completed, Common Criteria certifications are mutually accepted by 26 countries through the CCRA (Common Criteria Recognition Agreement), including the United States government. The U.S. government mandates the Common Criteria certification for the purchase of all federal security products. To learn more about Common Criteria download our datasheet.
